Terms of Service

The agreement between you and PawPlate.

Last updated: July 2026. These terms were drafted in-house and have not been reviewed by a licensed attorney. Governing state: California, USA.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of PawPlate (“the Site”), operated by One Realm Holdings (“we”, “us”). By using the Site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site. If you're using the Site on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorised to accept these Terms for it.

2. Veterinary disclaimer — please read

PawPlate is an information resource, not a veterinary service. The Site summarises publicly available guidance from animal-welfare and veterinary organizations about foods commonly fed to companion animals.

  • The content is not veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • It is not written or independently reviewed by a licensed veterinarian.
  • Using the Site does not create a veterinarian–client–patient relationship.
  • Sources can disagree, guidance changes over time, and individual animals differ in age, size, breed, and health.

Always consult a licensed veterinarian about your animal's diet and health. In an emergency, contact your vet or a pet poison line immediately — ASPCA Animal Poison Control (888) 426-4435 or Pet Poison Helpline (855) 764-7661 — and do not delay seeking help because of something you read here.

3. No warranty

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the content is error-free, current, or suitable for your animal, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or secure.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Realm Holdings, its owners, officers, employees and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages — including illness, injury or death of any animal, veterinary costs, loss of data, or loss of profits — arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

You are solely responsible for decisions about your animal's care. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) US $50.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

5. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless One Realm Holdings from any claims, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

6. Donations

  • Donations are voluntary gifts, not purchases, and grant no goods, services, or ownership.
  • PawPlate is not a registered charity and One Realm Holdings is not a tax-exempt organization. Donations are not tax-deductible unless we expressly state otherwise.
  • We intend to allocate 50% to animal-rescue causes and 50% to operating the Site, and to publish a summary on our transparency page. Operating costs include hosting, domains, tools, and the work of maintaining the data.
  • Donations are generally non-refundable. If you donated in error, contact us within 30 days and we'll consider a refund in good faith.
  • Payments are processed by third parties subject to their own terms.

7. Advertising

The Site displays third-party advertising to help cover costs. We don't control and don't endorse advertised products or services, and we're not responsible for advertisers' content or your dealings with them. Ad and analytics cookies load only after you consent — see our Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable use

Please don't: misuse or disrupt the Site; attempt unauthorised access; scrape or bulk-copy the content at scale; use it to build a competing dataset; or present our content as your own or as veterinary advice.

9. Intellectual property

The PawPlate name, design, original text, and the compilation and arrangement of the data are owned by One Realm Holdings and protected by law. Underlying factual guidance belongs to the cited source organizations; we link to each. You may quote small excerpts with attribution and a link.

10. Third-party links

We link to outside sites we don't control and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

11. Changes and availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, and may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the current version.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located there.
